Big B or megastar Amitabh Bachchan won the best actor’s award for the movie ‘Paa’ and would receive National award for the same by the hands of President Pratibha Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today evening.

 

A source says, “We had written letters to all the awardees asking them to be present in person to receive the awards and most of them have confirmed their participation.”

 

While Big B won the best actor award, Aamir Khan starrer ‘3-Idiots’ was judged as the best popular movie and a song from the same film ‘Behti Hawa Sa’ won the award for the best lyrics.

 

R Balki's ‘Paa’ was also named the best Hindi film, besides winning recognition in the best supporting actress category (Arundhuti Nag) and best make-up (Christein Tinsley and Dominie Till).

 

Amitabh Bachchan would get a Rajat Kamal and prize money of Rs 50,000. Now-a-days he is having a great time on the small screen hosting the extremely popular show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.
