The presence of Bollywood in the Indian politics seems to be increasing with the passing time. The latest actress to join the political scene in the country is Amisha Patel. The lady, who made her debut opposite Hrithik Roshan - in 'Kaho Naa Pyar Hai', is all set to contest the election from Rajkot (Gujarat), on a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) ticket. The news was announced by a party official on 21st March 2009, Saturday.
Jayant Patel, NCP chief for Gujarat, said that he had personally called up Amisha for getting her consent to fighting from the constituency. She gave immediate acceptance. He is also hopeful that Amisha will turn out to be a winning proposition for NCP in Saurashtra region. Now, the Bollywood beauty will, most probably, be seen campaigning in Rajkot. As it is, she hails from Sarsa assembly segment, near Anand district (Gujarat).
