Nearly 38 million votes cast for the remaining six contestants of reality show American idol showed that contestants Carly Smithson and Syesha Mercado were in the bottom two out of which Carly Smithson has been voted out.

 

Other contestants David Archuleta, David Cook, Brooke White, and Leona Lewis were in the safe zone. On 23 , April, 2008, Syesha performed ‘One Rock & Roll Too Many’ from Starlight Express, Jason Castro sang ‘Memory’ from Cats, Brooke White sang ‘You Must Love Me’ from Evita, David Archuleta sang ‘Think of Me’ from Phantom of the Opera, Carly Smithson sang ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ and David Cook sang Music of the Night’ from Phantom .

 

The contest is going to further toughen up in the coming weeks with each of the contestants trying to grab the title of American Idol.
