Amazon has launched its e-book reader, ‘Amazon Kindle’ as part of its global expansion. As part of the expansion plan, the Indian users can be shipped more than 280,000 books and magazines from its pool.
Amazon had already released this Kindle version in the United States. Now the model which is to be provided to Indian audience is the second generation Kindle 2. It has also a plan to release a new version ‘The Kindle DX’ later this year.
As per the company sources, once ordered, it will take a week to be delivered to the customer and once it is delivered, the product can be used for downloading up to 280,000 books, periodicals and magazines. It also offers all the materials in a nominal range and the lowest price of a book may be as low as $5.99. Apart from that, there is also some free content for the users.
More to it, Amazon can store as many as 1500 titles. The users can download any book within moments. However, there must be a GSM/3G connection only.
The Amazon Kindle can last up to 4 days if it is networked, else the product can last for two weeks when kept uncharged.
Now Amazon will provide the Kindle in English only. But gradually it will be provided in many languages. It aims at bringing every book in every language. It publishes many international newspapers too and once subscribed, Amazon will bring you the updates from leading newspapers around the world.
Amazon is supposed to be available between $259 and $378.
