Government has disclosed that all the listed central public sector enterprises should increase the public holding to 10% and has ordered the unlisted profitable government entities to go public.

"All profitable listed CPSEs (central public sector enterprises or CPSUs) should need the mandatory listing of 10 per cent public ownership," said home minister P Chidambaram while addressing the media after the meeting of Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs in New Delhi.

Government has asked all those unlisted CPSEs, who have been earning profit since the past 3 years and have a positive net worth, to list themselves with the stock exchanges. Government has also mentioned that CPSEs would enter the market at "appropriate" time.
