The forthcoming convocation ceremony of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is going to be a special event as it will witness the conferring of an honorary doctorate to the former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam. This premier university, which was established in 1875, at the same time will also honour eminent agricultural scientist M S Swaminathan, industrialist Ratan Tata and Wipro's CEO Azim Premji. The former President of India, Abdul Kalam will reach Aligarh, the venue of the University, just one day before the convocation event in order to meet and interact with students from 50 schools in the city.
