Whether or not the rumor about Alex Rodriguez being involved in an extramarital affair with pop diva Madonna is true is unknown. But this sure has caused a (now) visible rift between baseballer Rodriguez and his wife Cynthia. 

Things have come to such a point that Cynthia recently filed for divorce in Miami. She stated that she can no longer tolerate her husband’s extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct. The divorce paper filed in the Miami Dade County reads, ‘Alex has emotionally abandoned his wife and children and has left her with no choice but to divorce him.’ It, however, does not mention the name of the female with whom Alex Rodriguez is suspected of having an affair.

Alex Rodriguez, on the other hand, has refrained from making any sort of comment on his marriage or even media reports that he and Madonna are having an affair. Madonna too has refuted that she is having an affair with Rodriguez. 

Only previous year, the New York newspapers had brought out pictures of Alex Rodriguez with a lady who was not his wife while he was traveling with the New York Yankees baseball club. As per the divorce papers, Cynthia has also demanded the custody of their two kids coupled with child support and alimony. Cynthia had married Rodriguez in 2002.
