Aksh Optifibre, one of the IPTV services providers in India, is all set to add a brand new feature of 'time shifting', as a part of its 'icontrol' services. The service offers over 125 linear channels as well as a shopping platform (called 'icontrol mall'), a video-on-demand library, interactive advertising options, games and parental controls, at present.

Presently operating in Delhi and Mumbai, over the fixed-line networks of telcos (including MTNL), Aksh Optifibre has added the 'time shifting' feature with the aim of enabling subscribers to pause, rewind and fast-forward programs of the last three days. It would be controlled from a backened server and be applicable in case of popular pay channels, such as Sony, SAB and Discovery, as well.

After being successfully launched in Delhi and Mumbai, Aksh Optifibre is also planning to extend its services to twenty other cities in India, mainly in the northern part. The company has signed an agreement with BSNL (similar to the one with MTNL) and is now in the process of rolling out 'icontrol' services to different cities across India.
