It was a special evening for the cancer stricken patients as Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai joined them at the Cancer Patients Aid Association event.
The event no doubt was a electrifying affair as both the stars danced and sang with the patients.
Mrs. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been associated with the cause since she won the Miss World title in 1994. She has contributed a lot to help the people who are suffering from the deadly disease. The beauty at the event declared that she will bear the expenses of treatment of two patients and also urged others to come forward and help the needy.
The actress said, “I think everybody should come forth, contribute in whichever way, in whatever manner you can, to help fund the treatment of people, be it children or whoever the people in need because cancer is a big fight and I think it is something that`s an ongoing fight with a large part of the human community. So, do whatever you can, financially, personally in spending time, in being there and lending support and strength.”
Meanwhile, the tough looking action hero Akshay Kumar has the heart of gold as he joined the event and made it a memorable evening for the cancer patients. He was seen talking and discussing about his memories of his father, who battled cancer with courage. The actor was left stunned after seeing the stamina and courage of the children who performed on his dance numbers.
He said, “Today I felt very good after looking at them (children) dance and even looking at their stamina. I have a very old relation with cancer as my father had cancer, So, I can feel the pain.”
