Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel has requested the Air India pilots to call off their agitation and resume their work. He has given them the assurance that they salaries of the employees will not be deducted without consulting with them.

"No formal decision regarding cut in productivity linked incentives (PLI) or others has been taken. I urge all employees and pilots to report to work. I see no reason. The government is committed to seeing Air India flying high," said the Civil Aviation minister, while addressing the media.

He mentioned that Air India management has also agreed to consult with them employees before they adopt any such steps.

"Then where is the confusion? Every employee has been paid their salaries and PLI till July," he said.

"It is only that they have not got PLI for the month of August. There is no reason for any section of employees to feel aggrieved. Most categories of employees in the airline do draw respectable salaries”, added the Aviation Minister.
