Aegis Limited, a global outsourcing services provider, plans to invest $100 million (about Rs 48 crore) in technology services. Aegis is a part of Essar Group and has set up an independent subsidiary, Aegis Tech Ltd. The investment would be made over the next one year. The technology arm will provide end-to-end solutions in voice, data, networking, remote infrastructure management, etc.
The service would emphasise on delivering innovative business models for verticals like telecom, power, etc. Aparup Sengupta, MD of Aegis Limited, said that the company believes in partnership with the customers and technology providers to up revenues and strengthen customer satisfaction. Aegis Tech will also work with the current customers. This combined action would give more value to the existing and prospective customers.
SK Jha, President of Aegis Tech, said, the company is proposing to do this through a system of business and technology partnerships to ensure high levels of system integration. The present technology people under Aegis group will be moved to Aegis tech. In the beginning, the company will have more than 500 people across India, North America, Africa, and Australia. The employee strength is expected to be over 1000 in the next year and a half in the form of new recruitments and acquisitions.
