Now the users can upgrade their Shockwave players by using the Adobe patch bundle. It has been declared after a string of flaws appeared in the Adobe software.
Earlier the security company VUPEN had detected about five security risks in this software. Four of them can allow remote code execution and the fifth one could lead to a Denial of Service issue with the software.
The company had immediately responded by releasing an Adobe patch bundle to fix those issues. This will help around 450 million users to sort out the security related risks.
A report said, “These issues, reported to Adobe a few weeks ago, are caused due to memory corruption and invalid pointer and index errors when processing malformed Shockwave content, and could be exploited to remotely compromise a vulnerable system when a user visits a specially crafted web page e.g. using IE or Firefox.”
The company has suggested the users to download the patch bundle from the company site.
