Reliance Power of the Reliance Anil Ambani Gourp has completed its acquisition of the Jharkhand Integrated Power. This is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) that was floated for the implementing of the 4,000-MW Tilaiya ultra mega power plant project, from Power Finance Corp.
The development of this coal-based thermal power plant is happening in Jharkhand at an estimated cost of Rs.20,000 crore.
This is the third ultra mega power plant secured by the company. The Sasan project in Madhya Pradesh and the Krishnapatnam plant in Andhra Pradesh are two 4000 MW ultra mega power project that are under development.
