Bollywood heartthrob Abhishek Bachchan has revealed that people will get to see Aishwarya Rai and himself together in Rajiv Menon’s forthcoming venture. According to him, this movie is inspired by the 1973 evergreen hit, ‘Abhimaan’, which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. But he added that this movie is not a copy of the yesteryear blockbuster.
"Yes, Rajiv is a very dear friend. He directed Aishwarya earlier in the Tamil film 'Kandukondain Kandukondain'. He approached us with a subject that isn't exactly a remake of 'Abhimaan'. But it's very similar. We've both approved and attached ourselves to the subject," Abhishek told.
Abhishek Bachchan and his wife, Aishwarya Rai will be coming together for the seventh time after "Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke" (2000), "Kuch Naa Kaho" (2003), "Umrao Jaan" (2006), "Guru" (2007), "Dhoom 2" (2007) and "Sarkar Raj" (2008) and Mani Ratnam's much expected, "Raavan".
Currently, Abhishek Bachchan’s hands are full with movies.
"I'm also doing Rohan Sippy's next. We'll try to do something as different as 'Bluffmaster'. I'm also doing Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Paanch Kaurav' with pa (Amitabh Bachchan)," he said.
He will be joining hands with Abhinay Deo, who has just completed the shooting of ‘Delly Belly’.
"Yes, I'm doing Abhinay Deo's film. I've always been impressed by his ads. And when I heard he was making feature films, I was keen to work with him," said Abhishek.
The past two years gave Abhishek a chance to learn more on acting as he had been working with directors like Ram Gopal Varma, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Mani Ratnam.
"Oh it was huge. My first release in 2008 was 'Sarkar Raj'. I went on to 'Drona'. I ended last year with 'Dostana'. Then came 'Delhi 6'. I had a wonderful time making all of them”.
"I'm happy with the work I've done regardless of whether the film has been successful or not. The important thing is to enjoy the journey of making the film. Because that's all you finally take home. I look back with fond memories," he said.
