After winning the Indian idol singing contest and then doing playback singing for film Aashiq Banaya Aapne followed by the launch of his music album Junoon, Abhijeet Sawant has now found out a new way to remain in the limelight. The cute looking Sawant will soon make his film debut with Lottery. The idea, he says, is to change his romantic, mushy mushy image through the film Lottery which is basically a thriller. ‘The movie is not at all a romantic flick. It is in total contradiction with what audiences must be expecting from me.

It is basically a thriller,’ quips Abhijeet Sawant. One hears that he will be playing the character of an accountant working for a fashion magazine, who gets enmeshed in a murder case. In Lottery, the singer-turned-actor Abhijeet Sawant will be seen opposite TV actor actor Rucha Gujarati and newcomer Manisha Kelkar. Sawant says that he was flooded with film offers right after he had shot to fame after winning the Indian Idol singing contest. But he had turned them all down as he lacked the confidence to act initially.
