India's largest private sector drilling contractor, Aban Offshore Limited declared on Monday, September 1, that its Norway subsidiary has clinched a contract worth Rs 11.91 billion in Angola. Aban Offshore Limited issued a statement in which it mentioned that  Venture Drilling AS has landed an 18-month contract with Maersk Oil Angola.

 

Aban Offshore Limited has a 50 per cent stake in Venture Drilling AS that is based in Oslo, Norway. The contract will kick start from July 2009. The Indian private sector drilling contractor further mentioned in the statement that its expected revenue from the contract is Rs.11.91 billion ($271 million).
