Thousands of villagers from the ‘Peepli’ village are desperate to meet super-star Aamir Khan, who has given a new identity to the name of the village through his movie’s title ‘Peepli Live’. But the authorities have stopped him from visiting the place due to security reasons.

 

Apparently, there is a situation of law and order near the Peepli village in Aligarh. Reportedly, 30,000 farmers are protesting against the government for the acquisition of their lands at unacceptably low prices in ‘Tappal’, a village 8 kilometers away from Peepli.

 

It started when, one farmer’s land was being sold at lower prices and then the complaint spread like fire to the nearby places.

 

Aamir’s adds, “I wanted to go and visit Peepli as I have received invitations from the people. But unfortunately, due to some unforeseen security concerns, I have been advised not to go there by local authorities.”

 

The story of the movie, ‘Peepli Live’ is actually happening in reality as the movie also deals with the unfair activities of the government against the innocent villagers and the subsequent media response to the situation. One wonders that is it a blessing in disguise for Aamir?
