He had to struggle with the US authority to catch the earliest flight to India and luckily, under such chaos his friend came forward to help him to catch indirect flight to India to make easier his arrangement to reach India as soon as possible.

 

At the time of his father demise he was in US with wife Kiran Rao to showcase his 'Peepli Live' at the Sundance Film Festival and as connected flights to India was not immediately available, he had to make an indirect route to Honkong and then to India.

 

He fortunately could attend his father Tahir Hussain’s funeral. Aamir stated, “It was just fortunate that we could reach here just in time. The US is very strict with the flight departures and so a friend helped us get on a flight to Hong Kong and from Hong Kong to Mumbai.”

 

It was about 2pm in the afternoon when Aamir reached his Bandra residence and without any interaction with the media went straight inside his house. There he met his ex-wife Reena who was present since morning, accompanied by son Junaid, daughter Ira and her parents.

 

There was a huge crowd of Bollywood personalities like Salim Khan, Priya Dutt and husband, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kohli, Raj Kumar Hirani, Kunal Kapoor, Prateik Babbar, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and others who awaited outside his house to have the last glimpse of the noted filmmaker Tahir Hussain. Aamir cremated his father’s body at the ‘kabristan’ in Santacruz at 7pm.

 

Filmmaker Tahir  is mostly remembered for his film like ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’, where his son Aamir had enacted in the lead role.

 

Tahir Hussain has left a footprint in Bollywood and will be remeberd forever.
