Superstar Aamir Khan can be seen in the television commercials every few minutes. He is the brand ambassador of many products, but does it mean that he has eclipsed the television screen?

Right from the government ad-campaigns to the electronic media segment, Aamir can be spotted in any of the commercials on the television. There is so much clutter of his brand name now, that customers find it difficult to distinguish the other products or brands.
 
Aamir is the brand ambassador for ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’ campaign run by the government of India for spreading ethical messages related to dealing with foreign tourists in India. He can be seen in the ad on different channels at least ten to fifteen times in a day.
 
He also endorses the advertisements for Tata Sky cable network and can be seen every few minutes on the small screen. Even for the promotion of his upcoming production house movie, ‘Peepli Live’, he is on an aggressive promotion campaign on TV.
 
While, advertisers assume that his presence would give an individual identity to the products and people would go for them more, but people think the contrary.
 
Mohit Ahuja, television viewer tells, “Aamir’s following in SRK and Amitabh Bachchan’s footsteps! He’s always on air with some product.’
 
Mona Sahani, another viewer adds, “Every ad break on every show has an Aamir ad!! Enough!”
 
While, the advertising agencies who are the creators of the ads, think that it is not the case and Aamir’s identity hasn’t been overdone.

Indu Malini of FCB Ulka adds, “If he is all over the place and a fatigue sets in, the market will tell us; if not, he is clearly working.”

Even Sainath Sarban, executive director of Leo Burnett says, “An actor like Aamir can be used in versatile ways that will give each individual ad an identity. If he is used as Aamir Khan — the actor — it will seem repetitive.”

 
Well, whatever may be the opinion of the people related or unrelated to the advertising field, it is true that Aamir is the most potential brand in today’s market. His identity speaks for himself and has successfully created a stir in the market.
