Wherein, last week Vodafone and Bharti Airtel had announced of launching of 8GB iPhone manufactured by Apple on 22nd August, price of the same product was not disclosed. Now, according to reports, the cost of iPhone would be around 31,000 Rs. Also, the 16 GB version will be available for Rs 36,000–37,000.

 

However, the high prices of 3G iPhone handsets have not surprised anyone. 3G iPhone has always been seen as a pricey technology, i.e. what is essentially a price-sensitive market. Interestingly, how will it fare in telecom market will depend upon what kind of tariff plans are offered to customers, including the cost of the handsets.

 

However, according to reports iPhone will be available in rental plan which will be offered as bundle offer. Sanjay Kapoor, President of Bharti Airtel mobile services commented that iPhone has been an iconic technological revelation of this year and Airtel has been at the forefront of innovation and customer delight in the Indian telecom sector.
