Small car market will see another car from Audi as it will show Audi A1 concept car in the 2008 Paris Motor Show next month. News reports suggest that Audi A1 concept car is another extension of the Metroproject Quattro concept that was shown at the Tokyo Motor Show last year; however this time it will have four doors instead of three doors.
Similarly, it may have same engine which Metroproject Quattro has, i.e. 1.4L TFSI engine. 1.4L TFSI engine produces a total of 150-hp along with an electric motor that gives 41 horsepower and a fuel-economy of 48 mpg. More importantly, there has not been any communication in regard to the continuation of Metroproject in terms of features.
Reportedly, the concept car will undergo production at Brussels in Belgium and will be introduced as a 2009 model. Also, there is no ruling out of an electric model which may come in later phase of production. However, the firm is not interested to sale the same car in US market. Rupert Stadler, CEO Audi said that Audi has no plans to launch the compact A1 in North America.
