Yash Raj Films' ‘New York’ will be the curtain raiser for the 33rd Cairo International Film Festival 2009, which is slated to be held between Nov 10 and Nov 20. The movie will also be featured in the ‘In Competition' section.
The movie, which has been directed by Kabir Khan,stars John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh in the lead apart from Irrfan Khan in a pivotal role.
The movie, which had won rave reviews from critics, had been released over 900 screens worldwide on June 26 this year. The movie was also premiered at the Pusan International Film Festival. The movie revolves around the lives of three friends, whose lives take a U-turn after the 9/11 attacks.
Hollywood stars like Samuel L. Jackson, Lucy Liu and Tom Berenger will also be attending the film festival.
