The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan which was probing the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks claimed that deadly attacks were masterminded in Europe and not in Pakistan. This information was divulged by a Pakistani channel. Earlier the investigation report indicated that that banned Harkat-ul-Jihad-al Islami (HuJI) of Bangladesh may have played a role in Mumbai menace.
According to media reports, the FIA official claimed that probe report ruled out the involvement of any Pakistani group or organisations in the Mumbai attacks. He however said that Pakistani government is investigating to make the report more transparent. The probe report on last year's Mumbai atrocities is likely to be handed over to Indian authorities today (February 9).
Informing that Pakistani government will file case against Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist captured in Mumbai attacks, the country's media channel said that Pakistan will seek Kasab's custody from India. The Pakistan government-formed FIA has also examined the Indian dossier sent to Islamabad and it will also submit the reports. The FIA was formed by Pakistan to investigate terror attacks following India's regular claims that the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group was behind the incidents.
