In 2012 earth will witness a pole reversal. It simply means that the North Pole will change into South Pole. Scientifically, this phenomenon can only be explained by the fact that the earth will start rotating in opposite direction, bringing in a disaster of huge proportions. The Pole reversal according to NASA Scientists is owing to Sun’s magnetic polar shift. Last it was in February 2001, the sun did a magnetic polar shift.

David Hathaway, a solar physicist at the Marshall Space Flight Center revealed that such a situation arises at the time of solar maximum. The Magnetic poles exchange places at the peak of the sunspot cycle. The sun reverses its magnetic field like clockwork every eleven years at the peak of the sunspot cycle.

The next solar flip according to the NASA experts is due in 2012. The event can however cause massive destruction of life on earth. It can result in massive earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis which are beyond the scope of our present imagination. A polar shift may even herald in a new ice age for some parts of the world.
