Design and Looks
The Nokia 2600 classic is a very sleek cell; it’s only a little more than a centimeter thick and sports a very chic design. The buttons at the middle including the navigation keys are surrounded by a gold-coloured ring that sets a strong style statement. The phone is also very light, grossing at 73 grams with battery.
The phone is available in four colour schemes and the get-up on the outside is changeable with the help of the Xpress on exchangeable style covers that come with the retail package.
The keypad of the phone is very comfortable to use and is indeed highly text friendly. Keypad presses lack tactility though and keys feel squishy to the touch. Unfortunately the plastic keypad is also glossy so you can expect to see fingerprint smudges every time you use the phone. Using the navigational aspect of the D-pad can be tricky as you may end up pressing the confirming center button accidentally when browsing through the menus.
The phone sports a VGA camera that is not of very good standards. It can take some crude photographs that are of only passable quality. The phone can also take videos, mind you, but they come off even worse than the pictures. However, it would be unwise to expect a better camera for this price.
The phone’s USP is the Bluetooth and GPRS connectivity. Although most would argue that Bluetooth is of little value in a phone with such little memory capability. Then there’s also EDGE connectivity but for downlink only.
The phone is both stylish and functional and feature-packed for its size and price. You definitely cannot miss this one.
