Porsche Boxter (base model) is powered by 2.7L 6-cylinder boxer engine, generating a power of 245 bhp @ 6500 rpm and a torque of 273 Nm @ 4600-6000 rpm. The car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and delivers a top speed of 258 km/h. On the other hand, Porsche Boxster S is powered by 3.4L 6-cylinder boxer engine, which delivers the maximum output of 295 bhp @ 6250 rpm and a torque of 340 Nm @ 4400 - 6000 rpm. It accelerates from rest to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 272 km/h. Boxster gets 5-speed transmission, while the engine of Boxster S is coupled with 6-speed manual transmission.
Design And Comfort
Porsche Boxter is equipped with a retractable soft top, which opens and closes within 12 seconds. The exterior design of the convertible is quiet distinctive, which is complemented by the Boxster hood system. The roof can be operated even when the car is moving at a speed of 50 km/h. A hardtop, made of robust aluminum, is available as an option for both the models of the convertible. The electrically adjustable sports seats provide a high level of comfort to its occupants.
Interiors
The interiors of Porsche Boxster are designed to ensure a comfortable drive. The instruments and controls are placed within easy reach of the driver. Adding to the driver's comfort is the height and reach adjustable three-spoke steering wheel. The elegance of exteriors of the roadster is extended to its interiors. The cabin looks elegant, luxurious and is roomy as well. The steering wheel, center console, doors, dash and gear shift knob get sleek wooden finish. Porsche Boxster comes with a choice of two carpet-lined luggage compartments.
Ride And Handling
Porsche Boxster gets McPherson strut suspension for both, the front and rear ends. The suspension system, optimized by Porsche, promises to provide total stability to the automobile, especially while cornering, accelerating and braking. Mid-corner balance and straight-line stability of the vehicle is quiet impressive. The variable steering ratio further enhances the car's handling. With a modest turning radius and an exceptional road contact, riding in Boxster is pleasurable and driving it is completely hassle-free.

Safety
Porsche Boxster is fully packed with a host of active and passive safety features. The active safety is governed by Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system, found as a standard feature in both, Boxster and Boxster S models. Apart from the front air bags, both the models are equipped with head and thorax air bags, to ensure high level of protection for the upper body parts. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) is available as an option for Boxster S variant.
Variants, Price And Color
Porsche Boxster comes in two variants - Boxster (base model) and Boxster S. Boxter is priced at Rs 46 lakh (approx) whereas, Boxster S comes with a price tag of Rs 53 lakh (approx). Both the models are available in dazzling colors. Solid colors include Carrara White, Guards Red, Black and Speed Yellow. Metallic colors include Arctic Silver, Basalt Black, Cobalt Blue, Midnight Blue, Macadamia, Meteor Grey, Forest Green and Ruby Red. Special colors are also designated to the car, which include Slate Grey Metallic, GT Silver Metallic, Atlas Grey Metallic, Dark Olive Metallic and Malachite Green Metallic.
