Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers five engine options - three for petrol and two for diesel. The 200K petrol engine generates a power of 158 PS @ 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 221 Nm @ 3500 rpm. The 280 Petrol engine delivers an output of 231 PS @ 6300 rpm and a torque of 282 Nm @ 2500 rpm. On the other hand, a maximum power of 196 PS @ 4000 rpm and torque of 456 Nm @ 1400 rpm is generated by the 280 CDI diesel engine of E-Class. The latest variants added to Mercedes-Benz E-Class luxury sedan are the E230 (petrol) & E220 CDI (diesel). Under the hood of the latest E230 model lies a V6 petrol engine, which delivers a power of 201 hp @ 6100 rpm and a peak torque of 245 Nm @ 5500 rpm. On the other hand, the E220 CDI variant is powered by 2.15L 4-in-line engine, which generates a power of 168 hp @ 3700 rpm and a torque of 410 Nm @ 2000 rpm. The E 63 AMG variant of E-Class is powered by V8 engine, which churns out a power of 514 hp @ 6800 rpm with a peak torque of 630 Nm @ 5200 rpm.
Design And Comfort
Mercedes-Benz E-Class is praised for its imposing looks. The poised front end of the car is adorned by oval-shaped headlamps and a bold crease on the hood. Halogen fog lamps are positioned in the front apron. In the rear end, a single fog lamp is integrated on the left taillights cluster. The sleek elegant contour is perfectly in accord with the swooping rear roof. The E-Class offers a luxurious ride to five people.
Interiors
The centre console, gear knob and steering wheel of Mercedes-Benz E-Class are adorned by a sleek Burl Walnut wood trim, which heightens the appeal of its well-appointed interiors. The car gets a 9-speaker music system, with audio controls mounted on the steering wheel. Its cabin is equipped with THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control, with residual engine heat utilization. It also features adjustable headrests, sun visor with illuminated vanity mirror and rear center armrest with cup holders.
Ride And Handling
E 280 petrol and E 280 CDI diesel variants of Mercedes-Benz E-Class are equipped with 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic transmission, whereas the classic C200K model gets 6-gears, manual transmission. The front four-link suspension, with McPherson Struts, an anti-dive stabilizer and gas dampers, facilitate effortless navigation on bumpy roads. Finely tuned rear suspension gives good stability to the sedan. The steering wheel is power assisted and can be adjusted according to the height of the driver.

The petrol variants of Mercedes-Benz E-Class are 200K Classic, 280 Elegance and E230, while its diesel models include E220 CDI and E 230. The luxury sedan comes with a price tag that ranges from Rs 37 lakhs to Rs 47 lakhs. It is available in a number of vibrant colors, including Periclase Green, Obsidian Black, Tansanite Blue, Carneol Red, Tenorite Grey, Palladium Silver, Sanidine Beige, Cubanite Silver and Iridium Silver.
