After the success of the diesel versions of Swift, Dzire and Ritz, Maruti Suzuki has now mounted diesel engine on its all new SX4 sedan. The cleaner and more fuel efficient Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel was launched in India in mid February 2011. Powered by Super Turbo diesel engine, Maruti SX4 Diesel is the first sedan in the upper A-3 segment, to be certified as 'On Board Diagnosis' (OBD)-2 compliant. The car carries a powerful Super Turbo DDiS engine, which is designed to given excellent response and acceleration. The engine promises to be high on performance and low on emissions. Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel is available in three variants. To give the customers a wonderful experience, SX4 Diesel is fully loaded with innovative features.

Engine
The 16V DOHC Super Turbo DDiS diesel engine of Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel delivers maximum power of 90 PS at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. High torque at lower rpm levels make the sedan a delight to be driven on city roads. The engine is capable of delivering 21.5 kmpl of mileage, which is said to be a bit higher than the comparable cars. To provide a consistent and smooth drive both on highways and city roads, the Turbo engine features linear acceleration curve.

Design And Comfort
Maruti SX4 Diesel flaunts the latest European design and muscular styling, with contoured bonnet and flared wheel arches. The honeycomb radiator grille adds elegance to the front. Adding to the masculine looks is the swept back sparkling headlamps. The sedan has got a strong back, which is adorned with stylish multi-faced tail light cluster.

Interiors
The impressive exteriors of Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel are complemented by plush interiors. The roomy cabin features two-tone dashboard, fully integrated stereo, cockpit style control panel and an amber instrument panel. Moreover, the car features tilt steering, for customized driving position. The rear demister of the sedan ensures that you get clear vision while driving in extreme weathers. The automobile is first ever sedan in its class to be On Board Diagnostics (OBS) compliant. The OBS informs the driver of any malfunction in the emission control system, thereby preventing any undue increase in exhaust emissions.

Variants, Price And Color
Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel is available in three variants, namely VDi; ZDi and ZDi (with leather upholstery). The VDi variant of SX4 Diesel was launched with a price tag of Rs 7.74 Lakh, while the ZDi variant was introducted at Rs 8.62 Lakh (both Ex Showroom, Delhi). Silky Silver, Midnight Black, Pearl Arctic White, Azure Grey, Oyster Blue and Clear Beige are the six charming color options for Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel.
