Design and FunctioningThe Sony DSC-W380 has a conventional 5x extending optical lens with a fast maximum aperture of f/2.4 and 24mm wide-angle setting, hence striking a chord with the professional photographers for some serious photography. Also, for complete beginners, there's the Easy shooting mode, which employs the same intelligent auto scene recognition system, reduces the number of features available to a few key ones and simplifies the display with bigger text and icons. The iAuto mode combines intelligent Auto Focus, Motion Detection and Intelligent Scene Recognition to determine the optimized setting for each shot. The DSC-W380 Captures a very high quality images with 14.1 megapixels along with 6.7cm/2.7 inch Clear Photo LCD screen (230k dot) offers excellent detail, high contrast and wide viewing angle. It Captures crisp, detail-packed HD video clips plus stereo sound at 30 frames per second and can also be viewed on HD TV. The enhanced Face Detection system automatically adjusts the focus, exposure and white balance for people in the frame, and can even be set to distinguish between children and adults. The Smile Detection technology, offers three self-explanatory options, Big, Normal and Slight. The Sony DSC-W380 has 45MB of internal memory and it is compatible with SD/SDHC memory apart from Sony's proprietary Memory Stick Duo PRO.
