Sony A850

It doesn’t do well to a mess with a professional in a field, most would agree. So when manufacturers of imaging products come up with cameras that are meant for the professionals, they do exercise every bit of caution. The professionals would demand the best cameras for the lenses that they would use, especially when it comes to wide angle lenses. They know that it isn’t a good idea to try and fool a professional who will catch them in the act before they even know it. Perhaps even Sony sensed this, which is why they brought out full frame DSLRs for the professional lensman, like the Sony á850. The Sony á850 is a full frame DSLR, which comes with resolution of a whopping 24.6mp. Also, this camera includes some of Sony’s best features like dust reduction and noise reduction mechanism.

Design and Functioning

As has already been mentioned, the Sony A850 is not a camera for those who just like to click and understand nothing about photography; they wouldn’t be doing justice to this solid, sturdy beauty made out of magnesium alloy. At 850gs, the Sony 850 is a sight for those who love the feel of a solid, full frame camera in their hands for the various lenses that they use. The A850 features a 35mm full frame Exmor CMOS image sensor, which results in a larger capture area, improved wide angle performance especially with wide angle lenses, and tighter depth of field control. The camera’s sealed viewfinder optics and rubber gasket surrounds on all buttons, dials, and switches help resist the entry of dust and moisture into the camera. The Intelligent Preview function allows the user to see the effects of manual adjustments to exposure value, shutter speed, aperture, Dynamic Range Optimizer and White Balance before the shot is taken, to allow for the better judgment of the photographer. The camera’s CMOS image sensor also performs both analog and digital noise reduction. This on-chip dual noise reduction process aids in the high speed transfer of noiseless digital signals. To recover details in dark or bright areas of the image, the Sony A850 provides multiple levels of Dynamic Range Optimization: Standard mode, which improves shadow detail using standard gamma curves; Advanced Auto mode, which can be used to select any of 5 DRO correction levels, or DRO Advanced Bracketing, which automatically takes three shots at different DRO levels with a single shutter press. This camera is compatible with MemoryStick Duo and MemoryStick PRO Duo.
