Most people do not know the use of a high ISO range when it comes to cameras. They, in fact, do not know what it stands for and what it is a measure of. But when they do begin to experiment with it, they realise that picture quality does improve to a certain extent. They then realise that ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor towards light; higher the ISO, higher the sensitivity of the image sensor. Not many compact point and shoot cameras come with an impressive ISO range, but some that do always stand apart. The GE A950, for instance is one such camera with a 9.1 mp resolution and a 5x optical zoom capacity.Design and Functioning
General Imaging, with its Active series, has tried to come up with budget cameras which match the expensive, brightly coloured size zero cameras that most people fall for. Many such cameras turn out to be extremely expensive and are never value for money. Thankfully, the GE A950 is value for money, affordable, user friendly and looks superb too. It neither bulky nor too thin and can still be easily slipped into the pocket; it also comes with an excellent and easy grip. This camera is available in colours like Fuchsia Pink, Devil’s Red, Midnight Black and Metallic Silver. It comes with an impressive ISO range, extending from a minimum of 64 to a maximum of 1600. Apart from this, it is equipped with everything that people expect out of a good compact point and shoot camera – Smile Detection, Blink Detection, Auto Scene Detection as well as Electronic Image Stabilization. Its LCD screen is capable of adjusting its brightness according to the existing lighting conditions so that the user faces less trouble while framing. The camera contains internal memory of 24MB and is compatible with SD/SDHC cards.
