The 12th Grammy Award show was held on 11th March 1979, at Century Plaza Hotel (Los Angeles). The Academy recognized accomplishments of the musicians for the year 1969. Bill Cosby was the host for the award show. Blood, Sweat and Tears; Quincy Jones were the mostly nominated artists for the year. Highest number of Grammy awards were presented to The 5th Dimension; Blood, Sweat & Tears. ‘The Trustees Award’ was presented to Robert Moog. It was from 1963-1970 that the Academy aired the highlights of the award dinners annually, which were called “The Best On Record”.
